Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) is a global partnership that was formed after the London Summit on Family Planning to enable 120 million more girls and women to use contraceptives by 2020. FP2020’s first progress report was launched at the International Family Planning Conference in Ethiopia last month.
At the conference, International Development Minister Lynne Featherstone announced £27 million over 5 years as part of the UK’s family planning commitment made at the summit last year. This funding will strengthen monitoring and accountability efforts to make sure women have access to voluntary family planning and promises are delivered.
