In association with Global Anaesthesia, Surgery and Obstetric Collaboration, the Royal Society of Medicine is launching the very first global surgery summer school.

Full Details:

This two days condensed course is targeted at UK and international trainees. It will provide a fantastic platform to network with senior colleagues and enthusiastic pairs.

The training will comprise of two main streams of career development:

  • Health system strengthening (day 1)
  • Humanitarian engagement (day 2)


The summer school was conceived to equip trainees with practical skills, academic insights and programmatic opportunities in global surgical work. With perspectives from LMICs, we put surgery, obstetrics and anaesthesia in context to better understand their ability to leverage the welfare of communities and the economic productivity of nations.
