BMA ends investment in fossil fuels

The vote to end in investment in fossil fuels was part of a broader motion that was passed calling for a switch to renewable energy. In doing this it became the first national medical organisation in the world to decide to end its investments in fossil fuel companies.
The vote provides a clear response to the Lancet Commission's description of climate change as "the greatest threat to human health of the 21st century".
